I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review ofthe bakery Lancelot in Evian region, France.
A perfect stop right on the main road between Geneva and Evian, about halfway. Very convenient with parking spots just across the street. The bakery offers a wide selection of local pastries, all at very fair prices considering the excellent quality.
I tried a single-portion chocolate cake and an almond tart topped with candied apricots — both were absolutely delicious. The welcome was warm and friendly, and overall it feels like a place run with care.
They also have a small seating area on the side. The tables are a bit compact, but it’s nice to have the option to sit down and enjoy your pastries there. Highly recommended!Visited in September
They have a good coffee (they sell the beans) and they make delicious pastry. The decorations is beautiful and ionic.
The people were lovely and the cakes were even more lovely, especially the black forest gateaux.

Typical French traditional café atmosphere and a lovely place. Their coffees are very good quality. Their Quiche and cakes are very delicious. Very good service. We will visit often as we can. Thank you very much!

I love everything about this place. It has a lovely little cafe, which reminds me of my childhood trips France. Excellent pastries and coffee and lovely, friendly service. The chocolate are also delicious! My favourite!

The best place ever, to have a coffee. Everything is delicious and the place is really original. It’s vintage.
3 generations have dedicated their lives to create delicious pastries and wonderful chocolates. A must-go to.

Lors de notre visite à la boulangerie Lancelot, nous avons été globalement ravis. Nous avons acheté une baguette parisienne, dense et avec peu d’air, ce qui est rare et vraiment appréciable. Ici, on en a pour la qualité de la matière, pas pour de l’air.
Sur place, nous avons aussi dégusté un pain au chocolat et un croissant, accompagnés de deux cafés. Le choix est varié et la qualité des produits se ressent vraiment. Vous pourrez en juger par vous-même en regardant les photos.
Le seul petit bémol : le café était un peu léger, presque comme un jus de chaussette. Mais le service était impeccable, avec un personnel très attentionné et une décoration agréable qui donne envie de revenir.
En résumé, une très bonne adresse que nous recommandons, même s’il y a de petites choses à peaufiner !Traduction
A superb artisanal bakery, with some small improvements possible. During our visit to the Lancelot bakery, we were generally delighted. We bought a Parisian baguette, dense and with little air, which is rare and truly appreciated. Here, you get the quality of the ingredients, not the air. While there, we also enjoyed a pain au chocolat and a croissant, accompanied by two coffees. The selection is varied and the quality of the products is truly evident. You can judge for yourself by looking at the photos. The only slight downside: the coffee was a little weak, almost like sock juice. But the service was impeccable, with very attentive staff and a pleasant decor that makes you want to come back. In short, a very good place that we recommend, even if there are a few things that could be improved!
